I am at present in my second year as a member of Council with responsibilities for writing Keeping In Touch, Policies and Procedures, Council Representative for the Lower North Island and genealogy for Maori and other ethnic groups. 

I have been on the Maori Interest Group committee for ten years as Secretary and Treasurer and have found this to be most rewarding and satisfying work.  I enjoy speaking to Branches about whakapapa research, writing articles for Bruce to include in Te Reo and, with assistance from Lorraine Rice, answering members’ research questions.  Perhaps my proudest achievement was my contribution to writing and promoting our whakapapa research guide.  To date we have sold in excess of 1,000 copies.
