AGM Agenda & Postal Vote
Kia ora Whanau
This is to alert you to the Annual General Meeting and Extraordinary General Meeting to be held
Saturday11 March 2017, 10am, at the Meeting Room NZSG FRC, 159 Queens Road, Panmure, Auckland.
I have attached the agenda and a postal voting form.
This is an important meeting as it concerns the future status of our roopu.
The committee is finding it increasingly difficult to abide by the NZSG Rules as they concern Interest Groups.
Our membership is small (25 at the present count) spread throughout New Zealand and Australia.
Thus it is all but impossible to hold meetings and especially so to achieve a quorum at the AGM.
Any change of status would not affect the administration of our roopu. Te Reo and the website would continue.
We would remain part of NZSG and have a presence at NZSG Research Days. Furthermore, by becoming a Contact Group
the committee would spend less time on administrative duties and be able to use this to assist members in their whakapapa research.
Your committee urges you to use the attached voting form and show your support of the proposed change of MIG
to an NZSG Contact Group.

AUCKLAND FAMILY HISTORY EXPO 2016
AUCKLAND FAMILY HISTORY EXPO 2016
Fickling Convention Centre, Three Kings, Auckland
12th—14th August
The M?ori Interest Group will have a Whakapapa research table.
Both events are in Auckland so many MIG members will not be able to attend. I would be most grateful, if you are able to get to either event, you would send me anything of interest e.g. notes about the speaker’s presentation, photographs etc. These can go in the next issue of Te Reo and on our website. This way ‘out of Aucklanders’ will not miss out entirely.
Similarly, if you are holding a M?ori FHM event in your area. Thank you for your help.

AGM Delayed
The Committee is well aware that we are long overdue for our AGM and since the New Rules adoption by the NZSG we also need to address
issues that affect the MIG. We are therefore
holding a Committee Meeting early December at which time the MIG AGM Date & Agenda will be set.
